Bataan continues to solidify its position as a hub for green energy and innovation with the inauguration of the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station at Vista Mall Bataan on December 9 led by Gov. Joet Garcia. Also in attendance were former Senate President Manny Villar, Las Pinas Representative Camille Villar, Bataan 2nd District Representative Abet Garcia, Pusong Pinoy Partylist Representative Jett Nisay, and Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia.
The EV charging station consist of a 40kW fast charger and a Level 2 charger, both accessible for free to EV users. This initiative aligns with the province’s growing commitment to promoting green mobility, reducing transportation costs, and supporting environmental sustainability.
In 2023, the Philippine government enacted Executive Order 12, which implemented a zero-tariff policy on the importation of electric vehicles. This policy has made various EV models more affordable, paving the way for broader adoption of sustainable transportation solutions across the nation.
According to Congresswoman Camille, “Tuwang tuwa po kami sa mga ganitong proyekto because Vista Mall prides itself on being one of the most innovative companies in the country. In everything we do, we strive to bring the best that the world has to offer, especially in innovation and sustainability, as exemplified by this EV charging station.”
Governor Garcia expressed his gratitude to Vista Mall Bataan, particularly to the Villar family and all the project partners, for their invaluable contributions. He emphasized the importance of this project in pushing for a greener and more sustainable future for all Bataeños.
